Yates Cup draws record TV audience

An average audience of 129,429 people tuned into The Score Television Network last Saturday to watch the Queen’s Gaels defeat the Western Mustangs 43-39 in the 102nd Yates Cup, setting an all-time record for an OUA game on the network.
In addition, 203,000 people tuned in during the last hour to watch Queen’s win its first Yates Cup since 1978.
Inside Richardson Stadium, 7,253 people watched the game live in the second-largest crowd for a Yates Cup game in five seasons.
The Gaels host the Laval Rouge et Or in the Mitchell Bowl this Saturday at 1 pm. The winner will advance to the CIS Football Championship, the Vanier Cup.
