Queen’s University Middle East expert Houchang Hassan-Yari is available to talk about the Friends of Syria Conference taking place today in Tunisia. Seventy countries including Canada (represented by Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird) are expected to back a proposal for Syria’s president to step aside.

Dr. Hassan-Yari, a fellow in the Centre for International and Defence Policy at Queen’s, can also talk about and the pro-Syrian demonstrators that tried to storm the hotel where the conference is being held.
