Dr. Elia Zureik, sociologist and member of Queen’s Surveillance Project, can talk about how society and the relationships between societies will be affected by issues related to regulating the movement of people and the implications for relationships between nations in the wake of Sept. 11. He notes that there are currently about one hundred million people in the world who have immigrant or refugee status; are in search of temporary employment outside their home country; or have been forced by natural disasters to leave their homeland.
