Facebook preparing to launch timeline feature: Queen's University professor
Queen’s University film and media studies professor Sidneyeve Matrix is available to comment on Facebook launching its new Timeline feature. Critics says new apps that automatically share your activities, user check-ins posted on a map, pages you liked and photos from your past being brought to light are an issue.
“Most members are accustomed to regular bouts of frustration that accompany frequent Facebook site design shifts, but the installation of Timeline is not just inconvenient but potentially far more seriously compromising,” says Dr. Matrix. “Get ready to revisit your Facebook ancient history as it is unearthed and posted on your Timeline like a virtual memory lane, and to troubleshoot a new batch of privacy settings to manage the broadcast of your digital past."
