Federal Budget excludes women
2010-03-19
Tax cuts and stimulus in the 2009 budget leaves women behind, according to Kathleen Lahey, professor of Law at Queen’s University. Lahey’s analysis of the budget shows how men will be the largest beneficiaries of the tax cuts and economic stimulus packages, leaving women on the economic margins.
According to Lahey, women will be excluded from up to $64 billion in spending and cuts, and she can provide concrete numbers explaining how women are skipped over in the new budget.
