Hockey equipment tariffs and federal budget: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University trade expert Robert Wolfe is available to talk about reports that today’s federal budget will see tariffs dropped for hockey equipment.

Dr. Wolfe, a professor in the School of Policy Studies, can provide more analysis when the full details are announced this afternoon but said the announcement will highlight some trade policy issues – will tariffs be dropped for other sports equipment or only hockey equipment? Is this a pilot project for a bigger tariff reduction bigger program?

Dr. Wolfe is a prolific writer on multilateral trade policy and the World Trade Organization. From 1976 to 1995, Dr. Wolfe was a foreign service officer with the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Please note he is available for phone interviews only.
