Infectious-disease expert
2010-03-19
In light of the recent tuberculosis scare on a flight from Prague to Montreal last week, you might be interested in knowing about a member of Queen’s faculty who is an infections disease expert and has done research on TB.
Dr. Wendy Wobeser says that people who have brief, casual contact with tuberculosis carriers are not at risk. “Risk to other passengers is low, but not zero.”
She is able to speak to the lengthy testing process of the disease, as well the risks associated with TB.
