John McGarry

Born in Belfast, Queen's Political Studies Professor John McGarry is a Canada Research Chair in Nationalism and Democracy. His areas of research interest include national and ethnic conflict regulation, the politics of Northern Ireland, and the policing of ethnically divided societies. He is a regular contributor to public media. He is the editor of Northern Ireland and the Divided World (2001); co-editor of Minority Nationalism and the Changing International Order (2001); and has published extensively on the conflict in Northern Ireland.
