Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits Ottawa

Queen’s University Middle East expert Houchang Hassan-Yari is available to talk about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Ottawa on Friday.

Dr. Hassan-Yari, the author of the book Canada and the Arab-Israeli Conflict Since 1947: Half a Century of Diplomatic Involvement, says Mr. Netanyahu is coming to Canada to build up support for Israel in the face of a nuclear threat from Iran.

“Benjamin Netanyahu is coming to Canada before his U.S. visit because he sees Mr. Harper as an ally. It is important for the Israeli prime minister to listen toMr.  Harper and seek Canadian support for his plans to potentially attack Iran over their nuclear program,” says Dr. Hassan-Yari.

Please note Dr. Hassan-Yari wishes to be identified in the media as a Middle East expert from both Queen’s University and Royal Military College.
