Law Society rescinds law school approval: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University law professor Kathleen Lahey is available to comment on a decision by the Law Society of B.C. to rescind the approval of a law school for Trinity Western University. The main issue is the school’s controversial Community Covenant staff, faculty and students sign forbidding sex outside of heterosexual marriage.

“The Covenant violates the Charter of Rights and this is not a private university that can ignore it,” says Dr. Lahey, whose research was quoted in the 2001 Supreme Court of Canada judgment “Trinity Western University vs. British Columbia College of Teachers”.
