Muskrat Falls project will move ahead: Queen's University expert
Queen’s University energy policy expert professor Warren Mabee is available to comment on the controversial Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project clearing the final major hurdle prior to launching the project. On Friday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced a federal loan guarantee that will see the project move ahead.
The controversy stems from what protesters say is a lack of consultation over the project and that the government is stealing from Labrador.
Dr. Mabee, who is the director of the Queen’s University Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy, has authored numerous studies examining policy for renewable energy options, and has provided expert advice to both federal and provincial governments.
