Pope Francis lands on cover of Rolling Stone magazine: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University papal expert Robert Dennis can comment on Pope Francis taking his place alongside icons of popular culture by appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The issue hits newsstands Friday.

“Pope Francis is a rock star,” says Mr. Dennis. “The Pontiff, leader of the Roman Catholic Church and its more than 1 billion members, is the first Pope to grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. “

The Argentine-born pope, who took office in March last year, has previously been Time magazine's Person of the Year. He also made the cover of The Advocate, the US gay rights magazine.

Mr. Dennis is available to comment on Pope Francis or any other aspect of Roman Catholicism.
