RIM to release fourth-quarter earnings
Queen’s University marketing professor Ken Wong is available to talk about Research In Motion’s quarterly earnings announcement which comes today just after 4 p.m.
Professor Wong is expecting to hear about sluggish sales and declining profits. He isn’t expecting any quick turnarounds from the struggling company, despite naming a new CEO several months ago.
“I think it’s going to be more of the same bad news we have been hearing lately about RIM,” said Professor Wong, who would like to a firm release date for phones using RIM’s new BB10 operating system. “It will take more than a new marketing campaign to turn sales around. Until they’ve got something solid to offer, I don’t know how you can expect their marketing department to do anything different. You can’t communicate if you don’t have anything to communicate.”
Please note that Professor Wong is only available for phone interviews on Thursday.
To arrange an interview, please contact communication officers Michael Onesi (office: 613.533.6000 ext. 77513,firstname.lastname@example.org) or Anne Craig (office: 613-533-2877, Anne.Craig@queensu.ca) at Queen’s University News and Media Services Department in Kingston, Ont., Canada.
