Queen’s expert in environmental contaminants Ugis Bickis can comment on the proper use of respiratory protection devices, and the degree of protection they offer.

Dr. Bickis is a professor with Queen's Dept. of Community Health and Epidemiology and his research areas include:
. Occupational/Environmental Health
. Risk Assessment and Communication
. Exposure Criteria and Patho Etiology of Hypersensitivity and Lung Diseases
. Environmental Health Impact Assessment

A registered occupational hygienist (ROH), Dr. Bickis is Standards Team Leader, CRTI* project 0029: Protecting the First Responder Against CB Threats, and a member of Health Canada's Working Group on Bioterror.
