Suspected terrorist Mohamed Harkat's court ruling: Queen's University expert

Queen’s University immigration law expert Sharry Aiken is available to comment on today’s Federal Court of Appeals decision on suspected terrorist Mohamed Harket’s security certificate process that branded him a risk. Mr. Harkat, who was born in Algeria, has denied allegations he is connected to Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network. He was arrested in Ottawa in 2002 and today’s decision may result in Mr. Harket’s deportation.

Professor Aiken is an expert on refugee and immigration law. She focuses on the controversies, complexities and challenges posed by immigration and border security measures as well as the impact of these measures on asylum seekers, refugees and the communities they have established in Canada.

Please note Professor Aiken is available only for phone interviews.
