Tamil refugees' immigration issues


Queen’s University law professor Sharryn Aiken is available to discuss legal issues regarding the ship of Tamil refugees that is expected to land on the B.C. coast tonight or tomorrow.

Professor Aiken, who is also the Associate Dean of the Queen’s Faculty of Law, is an expert on immigration and refugee law as well as human rights law. She can talk about the procedures the migrants should receive from government officials when they land, as well as the conditions in Sri Lanka which caused the refugees to flee in the first place.
