Queen’s University American politics expert Brandon Tozzo is available to comment on the dire warnings coming from the White House regarding imminent spending cuts known as sequester. If the cuts take effect March 1, President Barack Obama warns about a slow down in global trade, a stalled fight against cancer and compromised security at U.S. borders.

“The Obama administration is currently working with Congress to avoid billions being cut to defence and government services,” says Dr. Tozzo. “If an agreement on the sequester is not made, this could trigger a recession in the United States and Canada.”
