Valentine's Day & Facebook's impact on dating: Queen's University expert
Queen’s University technology expert Sidneyeve Matrix can talk about the vital role Facebook’s “relationship status” has in today’s social media-savvy dating world.
“Facebook has changed the dating world for a young generation of Romeo and Juliets. Did your new boyfriend buy you flowers or write a poem expressing his devotion? That’s nice – but it’s not real love until he updates his relationship status to publically announce to all his Facebook friends that you are now dating. Today, a romance is official when it appears on Facebook,” says Dr. Matrix.
Dr. Matrix specializes in digital communication, technology and social media. Please note that she is currently in Barrie, Ont.
