Queen's law and gender studies professor Kathleen Lahey is available to discuss a Statistics Canada report released this morning about the economic well-being of women in Canada.

The report is the second chapter in what will be the latest edition of the publication Women in Canada, which is being published one chapter at a time instead of as a complete volumn. Using data from the Survey of Labour and Income Dynamics and the 2009 Canadian Survey of Financial Capability, this new chapter examines the economic well-being of women between 2000 and 2009.

Professor Lahey is an expert on gender and equality law as well as labour and employment issues, particularly as they pertain to women. She is the author of several books and monographs including Women and Employment:Removing Fiscal Barriers to Women's Labour Force Participation and The Taxation of Women.
