Ingrid Johnsrude receives Steacie Fellowship from Prime Minister
Prime Minster Stephen Harper presented Queen's Psychology professor Ingrid Johnsrude with a prestigious E.W.R. Steacie Memorial Fellowship at a recent ceremony in Ottawa.
The award is presented annually by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) to enhance the careers of outstanding and highly promising university faculty who are earning a strong international reputation for original research. Dr. Johnsrude, whose work involves the cognitive neuroscience of communication and hearing, is one of six Canadian researchers to receive Steacie Fellowships for 2009.
Also participating in the presentation was NSERC president and former Queen's Vice-Principal (Research) Suzanne Fortier.
