The Academic Planning Task Force (APTF) will present its report to Senate on Tuesday September 27. A preliminary draft plan was presented to Senate last April, after the task force concluded a number of meetings and town halls to solicit input from the university community.
“It’s hoped that the plan will receive final Senate approval during the Fall Term, so that implementation may begin early in the new year,” says task force chair Peter Taylor (Mathematics and Statistics, Biology, Education).
The academic plan builds on the ideas, priorities and directions put forward in the Principal’s vision document, Where Next and discussed and expanded in the Academic Writing Team’s report, Imagining the Future. Feedback from the university community has been provided through an interactive web site and public meetings.
Over the summer, the task force wrote the plan that Senate will discuss on Tuesday, in B201 Mackintosh-Corry Hall at 3:30pm. For visitors’ tickets, please email senate@queensu.ca or call 613-533-6095 by noon on Tuesday, Sept. 27
