QUIC program seeks international student ambassadors
The Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) is recruiting dynamic students who want to share their international experiences with the university community.
“QUIC’s new World Link Volunteer Program is an exciting, grassroots approach to increasing internationalization at Queen’s and encouraging greater intercultural understanding,” says Rowena Selby, QUIC’s Education Abroad Advisor. “The volunteers will act as international ambassadors as well as a resource to other students who are interested in going abroad.”
Volunteers will share their international experiences in a variety of ways, including connecting one-on-one with students, writing blog posts and participating in QUIC coffee houses and Residence High Table dinners.
Each of the approximately 24 volunteers will be selected to represent a specific country or region of the world. Volunteers must be either international students, full-year exchange students, or students who have recently returned from an international experience of at least three months.
The program will run throughout the school year. The approximate time commitment for the volunteers is expected to be six to eight hours a month.
Students who are interested in participating can visit the QUIC World Link Volunteer Program website for more information and an application form. The deadline for submitting applications is October 2 at midnight.
