Astronaut alumnus returns to campus
Over 400 people attended Andrew Feustel’s lecture at Grant Hall on November 17. Dr. Feustel, PhD’95, shared with students and the community the story of his path to space.
Dr. Feustel presented Principal Daniel Woolf (pictured at left) with the banner he carried with him on his first mission to space with the shuttle Atlantis crew to repair the Hubble Telescope in May 2009. His second mission came earlier this year as the lead space-walker on the space shuttle Endeavour’s final flight in May.
Dr. Feustel visited the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering on November 18 and connected with 90 students. Dr. Feustel earned his doctorate from Queen’s in Geological Sciences specializing in seismology.
Dr. Feustel’s visit back to Queen’s was arranged by the Queen’s Student Alumni Association.
