Re: “Deaths" -- Issue #3-2012
I saw the notice in the spring issue of the Review about the death of fellow Bermudian, Paul de la Chevotière, BA’60, MD’70.
The correct spelling of the name of a person from Bermuda is “Bermudian,” not “Bermudan,” as it was a misspelled couple of times.
I noted that the obituary did have the correct spelling once. Perhaps the Review was hedging its bets.
This is a common spelling error. I have already pointed out the error to the editors of the Oxford Dictionary.
