Queen's University - Utility Bar

Queen's University

Events

Here’s a sneak peek at our line-up of events for this year’s Residence Orientation:

Queen’s vs. York Football Game: Gaels vs. Lions! See if those rumors that Queen’s is unrivaled in school spirit are true! Paint your face in Queen’s tricolour and join the parade to Richardson Stadium to cheer on your school!

Common Reading Program : This initiative welcomes you to a new community of readers and thinkers at Queen’s! Every new first-year student has received a copy of  Charlotte Gill’s award-winning nonfiction book, Eating Dirt. Share your thoughts and opinions on the Common Reading Program Facebook group  and enter our Writing Contest  to win fantastic prizes!  It’s a great way to meet classmates and others in the Queen’s community, prepare for the transition to university, and keep your academic skills sharp over the summer.

During Residence Orientation, you will participate in book discussion groups facilitated by upper-year students and other community members and engage in lively, interesting, and thoughtful discussion.

MuchMusic Video Dance & Carnival: Bring back the feel of summer with games, cotton candy, and a MuchMusic video dance party all under one roof!

Casino Night: Step out of Kingston and into old school Atlantic City, Boardwalk Empire style! Set in the Roaring Twenties - now you’ll finally have a reason to wear that fedora that’s been sitting in your closet.

Existere: What is it? What does it mean? Find out at this unforgettable event!

Don’t forget to tell your parents and/or guardian about the Parent Information Sessions  that are running during Residence Move-In day, Sept 2.
