July 25th, 2012 update

We have been notified that some of our emails generated from Ethics TRAQ system are not reaching recipients Inbox post migration to Microsoft Exchange. Please read IT release re: this issue below:

Outlook has its own set of rules for determining what goes into the Junk folder and how long email will be retained there before it is deleted. After your account has been migrated to the Exchange server, you will need to review your Junk folder to ensure that any email that has been moved there during the migration process is indeed junk.

If you find email that has been moved to the Junk folder mistakenly during the migration, you can move it back to your Inbox. This will “train” Outlook so next time email from that sender will not be moved to the Junk folder.

September 2010 update

As you may know, Office of Research Services is implementing a ROMEO Human Ethics electronic system to replace our old systems with new web-based systems. Considerable progress has been made in preparing the new ROMEO Human Ethics Application System, and this summer was a busy period of engaging faculties, departments and hospital units in testing, training and then the transition to the new Romeo System.

Thank you to everyone who attended the information sessions for the new eORS: Ethics Application System. We appreciate your interest in learning about the new system and your enthusiasm in making suggestions for improvements. We took your feedback directly to the company that designed the program, and are happy to report that they will be reworking the system to address your concerns. Specifically, the company will rework the program to:

- Allow a delegated sign on process to enable support staff to fill out forms in preparation for PI submission

- Allow a "bi-directional workflow" that will enable applications to be submitted, reviewed, edited and resubmitted.

There will also be several other additions and upgrades based on the feedback from these sessions.

Timing

As a result of this development, we have decided to delay implementation until the new version is ready, sometime early in the New Year.

Testing

Before we go live, we will test the new version and would like to enlist some of you to help us with that testing.

If you are interested in being involved in the testing phase in December, please email us and we will give you more information.

Training

And of course, when the new version is ready and live, we will begin a new round of training and information sessions to ensure the everyone has a chance to be trained on how to use it. Thank you again for your patience and participation.
