During that time we received 168 electronic Applications (39 Full Board reviews and 129 Delegated reviews) and over 1000 Event forms (Annual Renewal Form, Amendment Form, SAE Form). Thank you all for embracing this new system. Thank you for your constructive suggestions for improvement and all the positive comments and emails sent to us. Up to date we completed 40 training workshops with over 250 participants. Please remember to check Useful Links and News on your Researcher's Portal where you can find information on new CORE TCPS-2 Ethics Course, User Manuals, login information and how to contact our support staff.
Please note; when we send renewal email reminders we select 3 roles from each file: Principal Investigator, Supervisor and Research Coordinator. Please use those roles if you want your Project team members to receive those emails. We don't sent reminder emails to Project team members in the role of Co-Investigator.

September 2010 update
As you may know, Office of Research Services is implementing a ROMEO Human Ethics electronic system to replace our old systems with new web-based systems. Considerable progress has been made in preparing the new ROMEO Human Ethics Application System, and this summer was a busy period of engaging faculties, departments and hospital units in testing, training and then the transition to the new Romeo System.
Thank you to everyone who attended the information sessions for the new eORS: Ethics Application System. We appreciate your interest in learning about the new system and your enthusiasm in making suggestions for improvements. We took your feedback directly to the company that designed the program, and are happy to report that they will be reworking the system to address your concerns. Specifically, the company will rework the program to:
- Allow a delegated sign on process to enable support staff to fill out forms in preparation for PI submission
- Allow a "bi-directional workflow" that will enable applications to be submitted, reviewed, edited and resubmitted.
There will also be several other additions and upgrades based on the feedback from these sessions.
Timing
As a result of this development, we have decided to delay implementation until the new version is ready, sometime early in the New Year.
Testing
Before we go live, we will test the new version and would like to enlist some of you to help us with that testing.
If you are interested in being involved in the testing phase in December, please email us and we will give you more information.
Training
And of course, when the new version is ready and live, we will begin a new round of training and information sessions to ensure the everyone has a chance to be trained on how to use it. Thank you again for your patience and participation.
