University Research Services - Stage 1 Review Process

The deadline to receive a  CONTENT REVIEW from University Research Services is Monday, August 24, 2015. Note that the content review is not a scientific review (i.e. a review undertaken by 2 or more health sciences researchers). The review is performed by a Research Projects Advisor at University Research Services. The advisor will:

  • Perform a detailed reading and content review of your application (includes editing suggestions)
  • Perform a completeness check of your application
  • Perform a budget review
  • Send you detailed comments / feedback

If you would like to have your application reviewed by University Research Services, please send a penultimate draft to Kristina Arseneau (k.arseneau@queensu.ca) no later than Monday, August 24, 2015. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please remember that the closer your application is to complete, the more helpful the review process will be.

The deadline to receive a COMPLETENESS CHECK from University Research Services is Tuesday, September 1, 2015. The completeness check will verify that all required components of your application are attached and complete. If you submit your application after September 1, 2015, we cannot guarantee that your application will receive a completeness check prior to submission to CIHR.

If you would like to have a completeness check by University Research Services, please: 1) enter all of your application information in ResearchNet, 2) generate a PDF of the full application and, 3) send the PDF document to Kristina Arseneau (k.arseneau@queensu.ca) no later than Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

University Research Services / CIHR - Submission Process

  • Your Application must be submitted using ResearchNet.

  • This Funding Opportunity participates in the eApproval process. This means that when the applicant submits their application using ResearchNet, it will be electronically directed to the University Research Services for review and approval. The eApproval process allows administrators at University Research Services to review and electronically approve applications. Once the applications are reviewed and approved, the administrators at University Research Services will submit the applications electronically to CIHR on behalf of the applicant.
  • NB: When you submit your REGISTRATION forms via ResearchNet, they will do directly to CIHR (rather than being forwarded on to CIHR by URS).
