University Research Services - Stage 2 Review Process

The deadline to receive a  CONTENT REVIEW from University Research Services is Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Note that the content review is not a scientific review (i.e. a review undertaken by 2 or more health sciences researchers). The review is performed by a Research Projects Advisor at University Research Services. The advisor will:

  • Perform a detailed reading and content review of your application (includes editing suggestions)
  • Perform a completeness check of your application
  • Perform a budget review
  • Send you detailed comments / feedback

To benefit from this review process, please send a penultimate draft of your application. The closer your application is to complete, the more useful the review process will be.

If you would like to have your application reviewed by University Research Services, please send a penultimate draft to Kristina Arseneau (k.arseneau@queensu.ca) no later than Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

NB: The deadline to receive a COMPLETENESS CHECK from University Research Services is Monday, January 26, 2015. The completeness check will verify that all required components of your application are attached and complete. If you submit your application after January 26, 2015, we cannot guarantee that your application will receive a completeness check prior to submission to CIHR.

University Research Services - Stage 2 TRAQ DSS Process

Your TRAQ DSS  for Stage 2 of the Foundation Scheme must be completed by one of the following dates:

  • January 23, 2015: This date applies to Hospital-based research. For research within the affiliated Hospitals (KGH, HDH, PV) or utilizing Hospital resources above and beyond the standard of care, approval must be obtained two to four weeks prior to the agency deadline (i.e. February 16) from the most appropriate Hospital Operational Director(s) identified within the TRAQ DSS application prior to obtaining Departmental Head approval.

  • January 28, 2015: This date applies to all research that is NOT Hospital-based.

University Research Services / CIHR - Submission Process

  • Your Application must be submitted using ResearchNet.

  • This Funding Opportunity participates in the eApproval process. This means that when the applicant submits their application using ResearchNet, it will be electronically directed to the University Research Services for review and approval. The eApproval process allows administrators at University Research Services to review and electronically approve applications. Once the applications are reviewed and approved, the administrators at University Research Services will submit the applications electronically to CIHR on behalf of the applicant.
