Grant Agreements are usually handled by the Grants Facilitators in the Office of Research Services. The Grants Facilitators are: Jeananne Vickery (Natural Sciences and Engineering), Bonnie Stewart (Social Sciences and Humanities) or Robin Ashcroft (Health Sciences).
Research supported by a grant is controlled and directed by the researcher to pursue the research interests of the researcher. In general, a grant agreement does not:
Intellectual property rights reside with the creator(s) as per Queen's policy. Grant funds are normally received in advance of performing the research. The researcher may be required to provide a report to the granting agency on the work performed.
*Please note: If an agreement is entitled "Grant Agreement" by a sponsor, but contains elements as outlined in the Contracts section, it will be administered at Queen's as a contract, and will carry the same indirect cost (overhead) rate as a Contract.
