Welcome parents and guardians to the Queen's University community.

As your student begins studying at Queen’s, he/she will engage in a journey marked by intellectual and personal growth that will shape the rest of his/her life - a truly exciting, lonely, fun, challenging, sometimes frightening, exhilarating, self-defining adventure! No doubt your family will have new experiences also.
As an adult, your student has primary responsibility for interacting with the university and he/she is directly responsible for managing his/her education (including knowing and following university policies and procedures, seeking academic support, paying fees, etc.).
Queen's offers many resources that support students through this university experience, but students do, of course, still look to their parents/guardians for much valued support. On these pages, you will find links to Queen’s information and resources, as well as information on transition issues and parent sessions, that will help you understand the academic and social journey of today's student.
Queen's University is dedicated to supporting student health, safety and success.
To foster an inclusive and positive environment where students may feel most welcome and capable of developing meaningful connections with each other, Queen's Residences is alcohol-free during Orientation week, from Move-In Day to the first day of classes.
For more information on Move-In Day and Alcohol-Free Orientation, see:
