His primary research project consists in the comparison of various aspects of early modern philosophy to Hellenistic. As part of this project, he is currently finalizing a manuscript relating normative elements of Spinoza's system to the Stoics. He is the author of a number of articles, chapters in edited volumes and encyclopedia entries. In addition, he is the co-editor (with Brad Inwood) of Hellenistic and Early Modern Philosophy (Cambridge, 2003) and the editor of Topics in Early Modern Philosophy of Mind (forthcoming from Kluwer).
