Dr. King is a molecular epidemiologist trained at McGill University and the University of Toronto. The objective of his research program is to identify modifiable risk factors for cancer, with an ultimate goal of disease prevention at a population level. His research projects utilize intermediate markers of cancer risk and markers of genetic susceptibility to investigate environment-cancer relationships - including studies of environmental factors in relation to DNA methylation, DNA adducts and telomere length. Exposures of interest include disinfection by-products, meat derived carcinogens, UV radiation and physical activity. Dr. King is also a member of a research collaboration interested in the burden of cancer due to modifiable risk factors in Canada.
