Fundamental Physics (PHYS 104)

Recommendation: 4U Physics is required
Co-requisites: MATH 120 or MATH 121 or MATH 123 and MATH 124
Exclusions: PHYS 104, PHYS 106, PHYS 117, PHYS 118

Schedule/Format: 3 lecture hours, 3 hours laboratory, tutorial or additional lecture material per week. Approximately 1.5 hours per week are devoted to the tutorial sessions in groups of roughly 20 students each. A full (2-term) course.

Description:

Mechanics, including systems of particles and rigid body motion; gravitation; fluids; electricity and magnetism; oscillatory motion and waves; topics in modern physics. The material is presented at a more fundamental level appropriate for students who are seeking a deeper appreciation of physics, and who may be considering a concentration in Physics.
