Abstract:

Where do new materials come from? Traditionally from scientists making and testing samples one at a time. Now, modern materials scientists have adopted combinatorial approaches to the synthesis and screening of hundreds or thousands of new materials at a time. In this talk I will describe our Combinatorial and High Throughput Materials Science infrastructure and show how it is being used in the discovery and understanding of new materials for lithium-ion batteries, for fuel cells and for medical implants.

Refreshments will be available 15 mins before the talk.
