At the 2016 CAP, faculty and students from the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics & Astronomy at Queen's University received many honours.

During the awards night, Professor Emeritus and Nobel Laureate was a guest of honor speaking about his life after the 2015 Nobel Prize, Professor James Fraser received the 2016 CAP Medal for Excellence in Teaching Undergraduate Physics, Undergraduate Simon Axelrod placed first in the 2016 CAP University Prize Exam, Chanpreet Amole placed second in his division in the oral presentation while Jennifer Mauel placed second overall in her oral presentation.
