Research interests

 

Pluralism and toleration; moral conflict and compromise; public reason, perfectionism, and neutrality; marriage and the family; theories of justice.

 

 

Brief biography

 

Andrew Lister obtained his B.A. and M.A from McGill (1990, 1992).  After working for the federal government, he returned to graduate school to complete his Ph.D. at UCLA (2001).  He has taught previously at Concordia University (2001-2003), and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre de recherche en éthique de l'Université de Montréal (2003-4). He specializes in contemporary political theory, with secondary interests in the history of Western political thought and the philosophy and methodology of the social sciences.
