The Department of Political Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in Comparative Politics and expertise on Asia, with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2018.

Ognen Vangelov, PhD candidate in Political Studies, is co-author of an article recently published in Foreign Affairs about the deteriorating political landscape in Macedonia and the key role being played by the United States and Russia in setting the country on a path toward a violent confrontation. But despite their role in this upheaval, US assistance in pressing for NATO and EU membership could still prove useful for stabilizing Macedonia's democratic institutions.

Jeffrey Rice receives Award for Teaching Fellow Excellence

The department extends congratulations to Jeffrey Rice, PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Studies, on receiving the 2017 SGPS Teaching Fellow Excellence Award.

This award recognizes SGPS members who have worked as a Teaching Fellow in the past 12 months and have made a significant contribution to the Queen's community and SGPS membership during that term. This is Jeff's second nomination and first win.

Congratulations Jeff, on this well-deserved recognition.
