Post-Doctoral Fellowship Opportunities

The Department of Political Studies at Queen’s University invites applications for the Peacock Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the field of Comparative Politics/International Relations, with expertise in Russia and/or the post-communist region. This fellowship provides an opportunity to spend time in an intellectually stimulating environment conducting research, writing, and teaching on topics in any area of post-communist politics. Total salary: $52,150 minimum (unlike some post-doctoral fellowships, this PDF is taxable because it carries full Queen’s benefits). This sum will include teaching two half-courses about Russia and the post-communist region. The fellowship is tenable for 12 months from 1 July or 1 September 2018. The fellowship may be renewed at the Department’s discretion for one further year.
Eligibility: preference will be given to citizens and permanent residents of Canada who are not already in a tenure-stream position. Candidates must have been awarded a doctorate in political science from a recognized university no earlier than 1 January 2015; or have completed the doctorate no earlier than 1 January 2011 but have had their career interrupted or delayed for family reasons; or expect to have completed all degree requirements by 1 July 2018.
The University invites applications from all qualified individuals. Queen’s University is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace and welcomes applications from women, visible minorities, aboriginal people, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity.

Please direct inquiries to Professor Zsuzsa Csergő at polshead@queensu.ca. Applications must include a current c.v. and a 1 page, single spaced statement outlining the applicant’s program of post-doctoral research. Applicants must arrange for three referees to submit letters of reference on their behalf, either mailed to the address below or sent by email to knappm@queensu.ca .
