To dispose of equipment owned by Queen's that does, or may, contain confidential information, please take it to the Campus Computer Store. Before the equipment is sent for recycling, they will remove the hard drives from the equipment, and securely dispose of it. If you have already removed the hard drive from the equipment, please fill out the drive degaussing request form. If there is a large volume of computers to dispose of, the drives should be removed from the units as well as from any mount that may be attached, and sent to the Campus Computer Store on their own. The remainder of the hardware can be submitted on the Ewaste Pick-Up Request form and picked up directly from the owner
Any research equipment that may have been in contact with or may contain chemical, biohazardous or radioactive substances must be decommissioned by Environmental Health & Safety prior to disposal. Please fill out a decommissioning form on the Environmental Health & Safety website
We also accept all ink and toner cartridges for recycling. Simply pack them up, mark "for recycling".
