Principal's Teaching and Learning Awards
These awards are intended to celebrate teaching excellence and to increase transdisciplinary exposure to exemplars in teaching and the diverse ways in which the student learning experience is enhanced by educators and educational supports at Queen’s. This happens at the at the course level, through focusing on teaching of strategic university goals as well as through individual and group efforts outside of specific courses, at the program or university-level.

- To extend recognition of teaching and learning excellence beyond individual courses to groups of courses and to those who support Queen's educators, students and our teaching and learning culture

Michael Condra Outstanding Student Service Award
The Michael Condra Outstanding Student Services Award will be presented annually to a member of Queen’s faculty or staff who has consistently provided outstanding service to students, other than in a teaching role.
This award has been established by the Vice-Provost and Dean of Student Affairs, Queen’s University, in recognition of the high level of service and commitment to students and student wellbeing exemplified by Dr. Condra during his 30 years at the university. He served as the Director of Health, Counselling and Disability Services and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology.
Promoting Student Inquiry Teaching Award
The Teaching Award for Promoting Student Inquiry recognizes innovative instructional design which enables active student engagement in learning.
This award honours faculty and/or staff (individuals or teams) from any Faculty, School or Department.
Curriculum Development Award
The Curriculum Development Award recognizes excellence in curriculum or program development through collaborative efforts by committees, teams, units or departments. Excellence is exemplified through evidence-based approaches that are learning and student-focused, practice-based and literature and data-informed.
This award honours the outstanding efforts of any combination of faculty and/or staff colleagues who contribute as a team to the creation or revitalization of a curriculum at the program level.
Educational Leadership Award
The Educational Leadership Award acknowledges and celebrates exemplary educational leadership of a faculty member, staff member or student, demonstrated through initiatives that have a significant and positive impact on teaching and learning at a departmental, faculty, student and/or institutional level.
Educational Technology Award
The Educational Technology Award is designed to recognize and encourage the innovative use of technology to enhance teaching and learning at Queen’s. This award honours faculty and/or staff (individuals or teams) from any Faculty, School or Department. Excellence is exemplified through evidence-based approaches that are learning and student focused.
International Educational Innovation Award
The International Educational Innovation Award recognizes excellence in internationalization of curriculum in programs or courses. Excellence is exemplified through evidence-based approaches that are learning and student-focused.
This award honours the outstanding efforts of an individual or any combination of faculty, staff, and/or student team who contributes to the creation or revitalization of a course or program of international learning at Queen’s, in alignment with the Queen’s University Comprehensive International Plan (QUCIP).
