International Visitors Program


1. International Visiting Scholars (Open Competition)

Supports visits by outstanding senior scholars from outside Canada. Visits must be at least five working days on campus and must involve significant interaction with both students and faculty. Preference to joint applications from more than one academic unit.

Application forms for visits in 2013-14 academic year will be available on this site in the winter of 2013. 


2. International Visiting Scholars from Strategic Institutional Partners*

Supports visits by outstanding scholars from Queen's Strategic Institutional Partners *. Visits must be at least five working days on campus and must involve significant interaction with both students and faculty. Preference to joint applications from more than one academic unit.

3. International Visiting Scholars in Support of New International Research Collaborations

Supports visits by researchers from institutions outside of Canada (including existing institutional partners), where there is potential to establish new research collaborations with Queen's faculty.  Ongoing projects are not eligible.

NEW for 2012-13: In order to provide greater flexibility in applications to this fund, allowing faculty members to capitalize on potential collaborations as the opportunity arises, the requirement to apply by a fixed annual deadline has been removed.

4. Relationships with Strategic Institutional Partners *

Supports initiatives that build new collaborations and broaden Queen's partnerships with the strategic institutional partners in the list below. The Program provides seed funding to Queen's faculty and staff to help initiate a research, academic or administrative collaboration. On-going projects and direct costs of research are not eligible. This Fund also assists incoming exchange students from Fudan University  who require assistance with travel and subsistence.
