Computers & Related Equipment

When purchasing computers and computer related equipment at Queen's University, the Queen's Campus Computer Store (CCSS) should be your first port of call. CCSS services the technological procurement needs of faculty, staff, students and alumni of Queen's University. CCSS usually offers substantially reduced prices on computer equipment and related items compared to off-campus suppliers because of their reseller status, allowing competitive pricing and wide range of stock. As an integral part of Queen's University, CCSS is also able to process orders through the university's finance system, speeding the payment process and reducing back office costs. Purchase Orders and/or multiple quotes  are not required when you purchase through the Campus Computer Store.

Computers and related equipment include but are not limited to: Desktops, Laptops, Netbooks, Monitors, Printers, Toner, Ink, Accessories, Networking equipment, Cables, Disk media, Drives, Ram, Software, Speakers and Projectors, SMART technology and Audio Visual Equipment.

The Computer Store is located on campus in Dupuis Hall and is much easier to access than external suppliers. Service for your hardware is offered through the Service Centre in the basement level of Stauffer Library.

How to Order

In Person: Many products are carried in inventory at the Campus Computer Store located on campus in Dupuis Hall. You can purchase items directly at the store with your account code.

Email: You can email your order request or product inquiry to orderit@queensu.ca and they will process your order and ship it to your office.

Webstore: By shopping in the Webstore and setting up an account,  you will have access to Account Code pricing.. Visit the webstore and click on "Sign In" along the top menu bar. Select "account code" as the user type when you create your "new account". This will enable you to view the account code pricing and allow you to purchase directly with you account code. Items can be shipped directly to your office.

If CCSS is unable to fulfill the products or services request, they will notify you in writing so you can submit your order through Procurement Services. In this situation, your order must be submitted by a purchase order with 2 quotes attached and the relevant note from CCSS.

Should you choose to purchase a computer or system which is not the lowest quote, an exemption to policy form will need to be provided with the appropriate approvals. When there is a PO with a request to purchase a higher value item with the appropriate approvals and a CCSS quote, SPS will dispatch this PO immediately.
