The Strategic Enrolment Management group met for the first time on January 15th. The group reviewed its mandate, priorities and timeline. The group will focus on developing a three-year (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16) enrolment plan that will be presented to SCAD in March and then to Senate for final approval.
The group also reviewed the recent history of enrolment and considered how Queen¹s system share of government operating grants has changed over time.
Finally, Student Affairs and the School of Graduate Studies provided a preliminary report on the ongoing discussions with Faculties about undergraduate and graduate enrolment plans. This report included consideration of growth opportunities (programming and enrolment), funding implications, applicant pools, program demand, upper year transfers and cross-faculty impacts.
Topics to be discussed at the next meeting (January 30) will include international student recruitment as well as the effect of enrolment on such issues as student financial assistance and student services.
