Deputy Provost Susan Cole is pleased to announce the posting of a “GUIDE to QUQAPs” on the Provost’s website [https://qshare.queensu.ca/xythoswfs/webui/_xy-4436779_1-t_m9UKO6LZ]. The purpose of this Guide – which has been developed here at Queen’s - is to provide information supplementary to that found in the QUQAPs, and to provide more detailed guidance to Academic Units and administrators who are working within the QUQAPs on new Program development and review of existing Programs (CPRs).
Particularly relevant to those Academic Units about to embark on CPRs are sections on: Roles and Responsibilities for CPRs; Composition and Selection of Review Team; Orientation Session; Guidance for Preparation of the CPR Self-Study; Guidelines for Review Team Site Visit; CPRs for Joint Programs; CPRs for Academic Programs Subject to External Accreditation, as well as information and forms for Honoraria and Travel Expenses for External Reviewers.
Also included in the QUQAPs Guide are charts and tables providing diagrammatic overviews of the approval and review processes as well as realistic recommended timelines for the CPR processes. In addition, embedded in the QUQAPs Guide are links to the various templates for the Program approval and review processes.
Academic Units are urged to refer frequently to this Guide and are reminded that it is a ‘living document’. Its contents will change periodically, not only in response to updates from the COU Quality Council, but also in response to constructive feedback from the end users: faculty, staff and students at Queen’s. Suggestions for corrections, additions or improvements to this Guide are welcomed and may be sent to Peggy Watkin, Senior Associate, Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) at watkinm@queensu.ca.
