Students for Development Program

The Students for Development (SFD) Program is financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and managed by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC).

AUCC has launched a new call for applications for both multi-year projects and individual internships as part of the Students for Development program.

Internal Queen’s Process

Multi-year project proposals:
Interested faculty members should develop the project proposal with the knowledge of the relevant Faculty International Office (FIO).  They should submit:

  • a brief summary (approximately 200 words - from page 2 of the application form) of the project proposal by December 15, 2011 and
  • a complete project application by January 9, 2012.

Individual internship applications:
Interested students should develop the internship project with the developing-country partner in consultation with/under the supervision of a faculty member who has been approved by the Chair of Undergraduate Studies or Coordinator of Graduate Studies in the student’s home department or Faculty/School.  They should submit:

  • the completed application form to their Faculty's International Office (FIO) by January 16, 2012.

The FIO must, in turn, submit:

  • the vetted application by January 23, 2012.

Project application guidelines and the application form are available from the AUCC web-site.

Please address questions to your Faculty's Exchange/Study-Abroad Coordinator or Barbara Yates, Manager, International Projects and Initiatives. Except as noted above in the case of preliminary individual internship applications, all applications should be sent to Barbara Yates.  Please note that all contacts with AUCC concerning this program will be through the Vice-Provost (International).
