Application Process

For All Applicants

Students that wish to apply for the Rhodes Scholarship must submit their complete application to the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) by September 14, 2012.

The application materials are comprised of a Rhodes Scholarship Applicant Information Form (PDF) and the documents required by the Rhodes Trust, as follows (same criteria as outlined in the Rhodes Scholarships Memorandum):

  • a statement of general interests and activities, proposed course of study at Oxford, and present intentions as to future career (not to exceed 900 words)
  • a factual list of principal activities and honours while in College or University with dates (CV)
  • a photocopy of an official birth certificate, with an English translation as required, and proof of being domiciled in Canada as required
  • the names and contact information for six references, four of which must be academic (three of those the applicant must have studied under), and two of which must be character references
  • a print out of grades from the University Registrar’s Office (to be obtained by the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic)
  • a colour photograph

 

For Applicants Endorsed by Queen’s

It is the responsibility of each student to complete the official Rhodes Scholarship online application system. The URL and code needed to apply online will be sent with the notification of endorsement.

The Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) will prepare the endorsement letter and send it directly to the Secretary of the province of application.
