Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate an integrated approach to planning and resource allocation

  • Develop and manage sustainable resource allocations models (financial, human, and space) that support academic priorities and encourage initiative and progress toward institutional goals in the context of quality and enrolment objectives

  • Coordinate space and capital planning for new and renovated facilities

  • Ensure the development and maintenance of institutional policies necessary to establish guidelines and standardized methodologies for planning and project management

  • Support both senior executive and unit heads in developing plans in a clear and consistent format that support prioritized resource allocation decisions

Profile:

Jo-Anne was appointed Vice-Provost (Planning & Budget) at Queen’s in November 2011. The portfolio includes
departments of Budget Planning & Analysis, Campus Planning, and Institutional Research and Planning.

Jo-Anne began her career at Queen’s in 1991 as the Manager of Faculty Administration within the Faculty of Arts and Science, after serving for seven years as the Business Administrator for the Alma Mater Society of Queen’s (the undergraduate student government). After serving for five years with the Faculty of Arts and Science, Jo-Anne was appointed University Registrar in 1996, a role she maintained for fifteen successful and progressive years. Jo-Anne has
also held concurrent appointments as an adjunct instructor in the School of Business.
