Courses are selected in consultation with the supervisor and the program chair. Graduate courses offered by Departments other than Psychology also may be taken to meet the program requirements with the permission of the supervisor and program chair.
Students working with animals will also take QACS799: Introduction to Animal Care.
The doctoral program in Brain, Behaviour and Cognitive Science may be completed in two years of study by students with a master's degree in psychology. Typically, however, students require more time to complete the doctoral program. The requirements for the program are:

Graduate students in the BBCS program are encouraged to participate in the BBCS Research Seminar even after completing PSYC811, PSYC812, PSYC907, and PSYC908 for as long as they are registered full time in the program.
