Duties
|
Designs and prototypes electronic circuitry for research apparatus. Orders equipment for the Department, including set-up of equipment in classroom and laboratories. Maintains records and documentation for all equipment and apparatus built by the workshop. Computing support for Department research, network and administrative offices. |
Job Description
|
- The incumbent is responsible for the design of all types of electronic apparatus to be utilized in both a learning, research and clinical environment. This equipment is extremely complex and the incumbent must rely on his/her own knowledge and research in reaching final design objectives. Complete top down design documentation, schematic diagrams and operating manuals must be provided with any equipment designed.
- The incumbent is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, recalibration and testing of a wide range of research and teaching equipment within the Psychology Department. This equipment includes computers, computer interfaces, printers, polysomnographs, video editing equipment, and audio and visual aids. Incumbent will establish maintenance procedures for the aforementioned equipment.
- The incumbent must be available for consultation with faculty and students regarding computer hardware interfaces. This would include recommending and or writing any supporting software to best compliment these hardware packages.
- The incumbent is responsible for keeping an up-to-date inventory of electronic parts, tools and equipment to be utilized in the daily routine of the electronics workshop.
