Queen's University

Rachel Wayne I completed my undergraduate studies at McMaster University in 2008 in the interdisciplinary Arts & Science program, where I combined with Psychology. I was grateful to have exposure to a wide variety of subjects and it wasn’t before long that I realized that many other academic disciplines, such as physics, biology and philosophy, converged within the study of psychology.

I completed my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Johnsrude and am currently continuing my studies as a Ph.D. student in the Conch Lab. My research examines the contribution of visual speech information to comprehension of speech in noisy or degraded environments. Improved knowledge of how visual speech information and other contextual cues can boost comprehension of speech may yield insight into rehabilitative strategies for hearing impairment.
