The Association of Graduate Students in Psychology (AGSIP) A WARM AND EXCITING WELCOME TO THE INCOMING psychology students! AGSIP looks forward to welcoming you to our department. We are a great group of students who party as hardy as we work! So far this year, we’ve had a chance to eat great food at the Welcome Potluck, and again at the Whine, Wine and Cheese where we had the opportunity to catch up with old friends and welcome in the new students. The year is far from over: We have a pub crawl in early November, which will involve fancy drinks served (and drank, of course) by grad students. Following that event is a casino night where people will have the chance to win great door prizes. Later in the semester, the social committee will be hosting “Who-done-it” murder mystery where a murderer will be lurking among us. Overall, we’re looking forward to a really fun year! |

The annual holiday bonspiel
|
| WITH SO MANY FULL-TIME FACULTY, GRADUATE STUDENTS, STAFF, ADJUNCT and emeritus professors, postdoctoral fellows and research assistants (most with partners and many with young children), getting everyone together is understandably difficult. But we try. One of our most successful gatherings is our annual Holiday Curling Party which takes place at the Royal Kingston Curling Club. This year’s event began with a curling competition featuring many teams including The Sweeping Beauties (pictured below), James Bonspiel, The Curly SHRLy’s, and The Feather Dusters. Teams competed for the coveted Curling Trophy and the members of the winning team get their names on the trophy. The competition was followed by awards and a catered dinner. It is a great chance for people to get together and celebrate the start of the holiday season.
